This is what some of our students say about their experience of YogaVeda Living. We hope this gives you a sense of our ethos and we hope you decide to connect with us, and join our community.
After a summer of being out of my routine and eating less than optimally(!) I was really looking forward to resetting during my Ayurveda Detox with Paula in October. I certainly wasn’t disappointed. I expected to see improvements in digestion, sleep etc during the Detox (and I definitely did) but what I wasn’t expecting was how nurturing and restorative the entire process was. It felt like being in a cocoon of wellness for mind, body and soul for the week. Paula spent considerable time doing a deep-dive into my health history, diet, and daily routines and made wonderfully helpful, personalised recommendations for during the Detox and after the programme. The treatments were divine – relaxing but effective – and I loved the infrared sauna sessions. The simple diet of lentils and rice together with cleansing herbal tea was no hardship and left me feeling nourished but lighter. Paula was on-hand to support and guide throughout the week and the entire experience was incredibly positive. I couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

Recently I completed the Ayurvedic detox under the guidance of Paula. The 9 day program was very effective in detoxing both inside and outside of my body. To start the program Paula took her time explaining the whole process. I followed her instructions and I started enjoying the benefits from day one, as I have a very hectic life. I have to pause, take time for myself, relax and change many of my daily habits from eating to sleeping and even my yoga practice. The treatments were very soothing. The infrared sauna had a phenomenal effect on my joints and muscles. In my experience the detox diet was not too difficult. After the whole detox program I could see the glow in my face and the lightness of my body. A week after completing the program my digestive tract feels in optimum condition. Thank You Paula

The detox programme offered by Paula at YogaVeda Living is fantastic. Everything is perfectly structured to support you through the week, in order to achieve the best results. I felt tired both physically and mentally and I was looking for something that would help me to boost my energy and mood. From day two, my body started to feel less bloated and lighter. My physical energy slowly came back. This has been very noticeable during the mornings and in the evenings. In the mornings it often takes me a while to feel fully awakened and to start my routine. In the evenings I always feel physically and mentally exhausted. These feelings completely changed during the week of the detox. I felt full of energy and mentally stronger. More focused and positive in the mornings and more peaceful in the evenings. The detox helped me re-establish a positive and stronger mind and a healthier body. And this is only the start! Throughout the week of the detox I started to feel so much better that I didn’t mind following the diet even if that meant eliminating sugar and sweets. Sweets have always been a big temptation for me and I didn’t think I would have been able to completely cut them out from my diet. But I did! The results achieved have been mind-blowing: A great sense of lightness of the body, especially in the abdominal area. Softer skin of the face and the body. The inflammation of the knuckle of my left index finger is healed. For the last few months my finger has been swollen and red. It has been so painful that I couldn’t touch it or properly use it for picking up things. Overall I feel more peaceful and relaxed. Paula has been very supportive and understanding with my needs. I couldn’t have hoped for a more dedicated and professional guidance. She has also put together a detailed list of changes and improvements as a part of the after-care programme. I am now looking forward to changing some of my old habits, incorporating the new ones and experiencing the benefits!

I did the ayurveda detox with Paula in the middle of August and it was an amazing experience. At the start I didn’t know what to expect. I knew it would affect me in a positive way, but I was very surprised with the whole process and the unexpected benefits of doing it. It gave me the space to reflect and understand how the food I eat, and my habits were affecting my life and it was a powerful tool to help me move forward and beyond old habits. During of the detox, Paula was following each step with me. She was supportive, she tailored the programme based on my necessities at that moment and the treatments were just incredible. Every time I had it my body, mind and soul felt happy and grateful. Everything, from the diet, saunas, ayurvedic consultation and treatments was just perfect. When I finished the detox my energy levels were higher than ever, every food tasted marvellous. It was like having reset my whole system. My mind was clear and my perception was enriched. The best part of all is having a programme to follow, to keep doing the little changes and feel the huge benefits in my everyday life. The detox wasn’t something that I did, and it had an end. It was the start that I needed to be able to reach my willpower to live and to sustain a happier and healthier life.

I asked David for advice as to what I could do to dive deeper into the field of yoga, saying that I wanted the whole package: not only anatomy stuff or a mere focus on asanas but also pranayama and yoga philosophy, and at the same time not too much of “spirituality”. As soon as David suggested I try the Heart of Yoga course I immediately knew that was just the right thing to do. It was a bit of a challenge to organize travelling from Germany but in the end it was just meant to be and I ended up flying to Dublin once a month. I can say the effort was all worth it, or better said: at the end of the day it didn’t even feel like a big commitment as I got back so much more out of it than I put into it. It was by far more than I expected (which shows that I am still at the very beginning as I still had expectations to the outcome;-). We covered all different aspects of yoga, certainly also including asana techniques. Though, what was even more important was the fact, that with their profound knowledge and deep experiences David and Paula even made the Yoga Sutras and Bhagavad Gita accessible to us. We received so many comprehensible and down-to earth recommendations how to apply the principles of Yoga into our everyday lives. So, everyone who wants to take the journey to live a more peaceful and content life with the help of Yoga shouldn’t miss this great opportunity, and as a nice side-effect it is health-boost for the body as well.

I have one big regret about the Heart of Yoga course…that I didn’t do it years ago! Years during which I dipped in and out (mostly out, unfortunately) of asana (physical) yoga classes, lamenting my short hamstrings and not appreciating the bigger picture of this wonderful, wonderful practice. Not that I’m claiming that the Heart of Yoga course with David and Paula miraculously lengthened my hamstrings (although the more consistent practice that it inspired certainly has helped), but it opened up the other 7 limbs of Ashtanga and the incredible benefits of the entire system. The weekends comprised a mix of exploration of the asana practice and relevant anatomy; great discussions on the philosophy within some of the key yoga texts; practical instruction on different meditation techniques; guided relaxations and much, much more. They just flew by too quickly! I have learned so much on the course…about yoga, about my own mind, about paths to increase my overall happiness and well-being. I couldn’t recommend it highly enough. If you do only one thing next year to increase your quality of life and that of those around you, please take the opportunity to participate in Heart of Yoga. I loved it.

The Heart of Yoga course was an incredible source of information for me in so many ways. Having both Paula and David’s never-ending philosophical knowledge as guidance along with us while reading both the Yoga Sutras and the Bhagavad Gita (and many fascinating discussions about them!) as well as David’s deep anatomical understanding and knowledge throughout the posture practice have helped me so much not only for my own daily practice but also to overcome obstacles I thought I had – in my body (plenty of old injuries) as well as in my mind (being a super busy mom with kids of all ages including a special needs foster child). Developing and really deepening my understanding of my practice has actually changed my life and it wouldn’t have been without the Heart of Yoga course. I can wholeheartedly recommend the Heart of Yoga course to anyone (regardless of whether they want to become a teacher or just practice for themselves) who is interested to dive deeper into a yogic lifestyle - no better teachers to guide you along the way!

David and Paula run a wonderfully comprehensive Teacher Training course. For every asana covered, they broke down in detail how to teach it, how to modify it for students with different needs and abilities, the contraindications and the benefits of the posture. But they covered so much more, from anatomy to pranayama, meditation, Yoga nidra, Yoga philosophy and chanting. They taught us how to structure a class, how to open and close a class so that students have the best experience possible. I felt it was a really well-rounded course. I loved the fact that both David and Paula “walked the talk” in terms of their commitment to their own personal practices and the way in which they live their lives. They were always available to answer questions and provide encouragement.

I had no intention of doing Yoga Teacher Training when I started David and Paula’s Heart of Yoga course in 2016. However, they are both such wonderful, clear, compassionate, well-rounded teachers that I found myself signing up with enthusiasm for Teacher Training in 2017. The course was brilliant. Paula and David facilitate an open, non-judgemental, kind and fun learning process. The course is very balanced with focus on all aspects of Yoga, not just the asana. I cannot recommend this course enough and I am so delighted I did it. At completion, you are more than able to stand in front of a Yoga class and feel prepared and ready to teach. If you are debating whether to do the course, my advice is to jump in and go for it!

Doing the Yoga teacher training course with David and Paula felt like the natural next step after completing the Heart of Yoga course with them. I did the Teacher Training course to further deepen my understanding of Yoga rather than to actually teach Yoga but within a year of completing the course, I was teaching a local Yoga class in the rural community where I was living. The course gave me the confidence to set up and teach this class and others.
